Premier League Primary Stars has launched Maths Attax, a free maths education resource for girls and boys aged 5-11.
Created with Topps, Maths Attax uses the popularity of football cards to help pupils effectively learn about equations and algebra, all set in the inspiring world of Premier League football.
Using a pack of 32 player cards featuring stars such as David Luiz and Jamie Vardy, pupils will use Premier League player statistics to assess their strengths and weaknesses while learning about equations and algebra.
The resources also include videos featuring big-name players, plus ‘active maths’ activities, ‘Maths Star training’ and interactive tools.
Leila Harris, Senior Leader at Parkfield Primary in Birmingham, has praised the impact of Maths Attax resources in her school: “Maths Attax from Premier League Primary Stars provides lesson ideas that are engaging, appealing, creative and open-ended, so my pupils responded very positively.”
“These resources place mathematical concepts in a meaningful, real-life context and the football theme is a great way to keep pupils motivated.”
