Check out the new musical schools programme from the BBC...
An enjoyment and appreciation of music is a special gift to give a child and from this Autumn the BBC is mounting an ambitious educational campaign called Bring the Noise, to inspire every child to become a musician and discover the joys of music-making.
The BBC and its partners are turning the spotlight on music education, championing its benefits in the classroom and aiming to improve the confidence of primary school teachers to deliver music learning in the classroom.
Several studies have shown the benefits of teaching music in the classroom, not only improving the well-being of children but also impacting on their ability to learn.
Bring The Noise aims to make music teaching and learning easy and engaging right across the UK, supporting teachers to place music education at the heart of every classroom and inspire children aged four to seven-years-old to take their first steps towards a life of musical enjoyment.
Teaming up with some of the biggest names from all genres of music, Bring the Noise offers exciting and inspirational ways to spark a love of music in young children.
A new online tool - Bring the Noise: Play It! - allows users to get creative and experiment with specially composed songs in a fun, engaging and playful way.
Users can turn tracks off and on, mix in different combinations and see a visualised tempo to help them take part in school or at home. They can even create their own tracks for songs, playing different instruments in the tool and then listen back to their version of the song.
Play It! will link with events and key points across the school calendar with more songs added throughout the school year.
Bring The Noise also includes free, dedicated educational resources and a range of inspirational films and animation. There are CPD opportunities directly supporting teachers with the latest techniques to bring music education to life their classroom.
And because music doesn’t stop at the classroom door there are free resources, ideas and activities to help parents support their children in their ongoing musical adventure.
